Furubira (Japan Sea, Hokkaido Region) Surfing Info and Details
This is a cobblestone point for advanced surfers at the mouth of Furubira-cho before Shakotan-cho.
It is a valuable surf spot where it is possible to surf up to a head and a half size.
Normally, it is difficult to see the waves, but when the north swell starts to come in, the area around the mouth of the river tends to have complicated currents, so beginners should avoid entering the ocean.
When you visit, be sure to enjoy Furuhira’s specialty seafood and squid.
