Long Beach (Irago, Aichi Region) Surfing Info and Details

This is one of the major surfing spots on the Atsumi Peninsula that represents the Irago area.

The bottom is sand and reef, and the waves break consistently hollow, mainly goofy breaks that break from the rocky area on the left.
This rocky area also reduces the straight wind from the east due to the influence of the hill on the left.

The shoreline is curved and the Yahachi Rock on the left also affects the sand easily forming a sand bar.
Many surfers are attracted to the goofy breaks that break from the rocks in response to south to southeast swell.

If the swell gets bigger, tubes can be expected. Here in Long Beach, there are many facilities and many world tours and contests are held.
It is a popular area, so it is inevitably crowded. In order to avoid traffic jams, it is best to enter from the Omatsuya on the east side and exit from the fire station side.
