Kotobikihama (Kyotango, Kyoto Region) Surfing Info and Details
It is a scenic spot with a beautiful beach famous for its squeaky sand. It is mellow in small size, but once the swell comes in, the break is powerful and can be enjoyed mainly by advanced surfers.
The bottom is a mix of reefs, so the terrain does not change much, and tubes can be seen at the mouth of the river. Sand bars tend to form here in Kotobiki.
Camping, campfires, smoking, etc. are strictly prohibited! It is also a very local area, so if you are looking for good size waves and a lot of locals, check out nearby Hatchohama, Hamazume, and Kazurano.
