Kurosaki  (Central Nagasaki Region) Surfing Info and Details

This is a reef point break that is sensitive to swell from the south. When a strong northwest wind blows, the swell often arrives around the headland on the right side.

The local people love this point and there is a lot of boat traffic, so be respectful of the locals and have good manners.

It is a popular surfing spot because of the surrounding mountains, but at low tide, the bottom reef comes out and it can cause board crashes. However, at low tide, the bottom reef is exposed and can cause board crashes.

If Kurosaki is closed, try to go further north and check out the points further in the bay. Even if it looks like a beach, there may be a reef lurking on the bottom, so be careful not to crash.
